In the digital age, the Rajasthan government has introduced an e-Mitra digital platform, enabling citizens to access government and private services easily from their homes.
What is e-Mitra?
E-Mitra, meaning electronic friend, was first launched in Rajasthan in 2002. It is an online portal of the Rajasthan government that provides services to citizens. Citizens can access massive government and private services through it, such as applying for certificates, checking application status, paying bills, and many more, without visiting any government offices.
Purpose of creating the e-Mitra platform
There are many advantages of creating a platform like e-Mitra, some of which are as follows:
- As we know, many people face problems while traveling anywhere; similarly, citizens also face problems like travel fees, overcharging by officials, and misbehavior. To solve all these problems, the government has created it.
- The e-Mitra platform helps citizens save their time and effort without going anywhere for any service.
- Through this portal, citizens can access services and see the status of the services. For some services, you have to pay a certain amount that the government charges.
- Through e-Mitra and its similar portal, the government is introducing technology in both rural and urban areas that aims to connect villages with towns by creating a digital bridge.
Services Offered by eMitra
There are various services offered by the Rajasthan government through the eMitra platform, like.
- Pay bill: Residents can pay bills on their respective platforms, like mobile recharge, DTH, Electricity, water,
etc. - Government certificate: People can apply to create a government certificate, like a domicile certificate, a Caste certificate, a birth and death certificate, and an income certificate.
- E-Government Services: Residents can also get E-Government Services digitally, where they get Ration card applications, scholarships, pension schemes, etc.
- Commercial Services: Through eMitra, they also offer Commercial Services, which include services related to Aadhaar, PAN card, Banking, and insurance.
- Educational Service: All the students can fill out their exam form online from home without visiting any cafe or paying any extra money. They can also look for university fees, results, and admissions.
How does eMitra work?
Here are the simple steps to access the eMitra platform online.
- Open eMitra: open your browser and visit the official site of eMitra. ie: emitra.rajasthan.gov.in
- Enter services: After entering the site, select the service that you want to access.
- Payment: Pay the required amount online through debit/credit cards, net banking, or e-wallets, and you can also pay through cash (at kiosks).
- Receive receipt: After paying money, you will receive the Digital receipts as confirmation of payment.
How to login to the eMitra portal?
Follow the instructions given below to log in to the eMitra portal successfully.
- Go to the official website: Open any browser, and then visit the registration section of the portal of SSO Rajasthan portal.

Enter SSO ID: Enter your SSO ID and your password with the displayed captcha, and then click on login. - Click on eMitra: After logging in to the SSO portal, click on eMitra and then verify it with your fingerprint.
- Login Emitra: Click on ‘Acknowledge and Close’, and then you will be redirected to the home page:
- Create admin user: Go to the user management and click on ‘Manage User’ and then ‘Manage Kiosk Admin’.
- Verify yourself: verify yourself using SSO ID, Aadhar card and role, and then save it.
- Access services: Again, verify you are using a fingerprint and then follow the further process. Now you will be able to access the service of Emitra.
How to pay the electricity bill using the e-mitra portal?
Follow the given instructions below to pay the electricity bill through the eMitra portal successfully.
- Visit to official website: open your browser and visit the official website on eMitra using your SSO ID and password.
- Utility service: Go to Utility service and search for the quick soft pay electricity bill for AVVNL, JVVNL and all DISCOM, and then click on search.
- Enter K Number: Select the operator and enter the K number, and then click on ‘Fetch Bill’.
- Proceed payment: Now you can see your personal details, past payment and pending amount, where you can process payment by clicking on ‘proceed payment’.
- Print receipt: Now you can see payment has been done successfully, and you can download and print the receipt.
How to pay a water bill using the Emitra portal?
Follow the given instructions below to pay your water bill through the Emitra portal successfully.
- Visit to official website: open your browser and visit the official website on eMitra using SSO ID and password.
- Utility service: Go to Utility service and search for the PHED water bill with the eMitra key and then search for it.
- Enter CID code: Enter the 12-digit Emitra CID code, and (-) then click on ‘Get Bill’.
- Verify Bill: Now you can see the bill details with the pending amount, and then click on ‘Add Bill’ for payment.
- Proceed payment: Click on Bill Pay, then enter the user’s phone number and click on Continue, and again click on Pay by Wallet.
- Print receipt: Now you can see payment has been done successfully, and you can download and print the receipt.
How to print a digital certificate using the e-Mitra portal?
Follow the given instructions below to print the digital certificate through the Emitra portal successfully.
- Visit to official website: open your browser and visit the official website on eMitra using SSO ID and password.
- Visit services: Open service workflow for application services via services. Then select the date between when you applied for the certificate and click on submit.
- Copy transaction ID: Check the status of applications; if it is approved, then copy its transaction ID.
- Utility service: Go to Utility service via Avail service and search for ‘Print Digital Signed Certificates’, paste the transaction ID, select print size A4, and then click on ‘Get Bill’.
- Proceed payment: check the details and then click on ‘Add bill for payment’ and again click on ‘Pay bill’, then enter the user’s phone number or email and click on ‘Continue’ and pay it using QR or wallet.
- Print the document: See the document and download it in the form of a PDF.
How to apply for pension registration using the e-Mitra portal?
Follow the given instructions below to apply for pension registration using the e-Mitra portal successfully.
- Visit to official website: open your browser and visit the official website on eMitra using SSO ID and password.
- Utility service: Go to Utility service and search for SJE. Apply for pension registration, then click on search.
- Kiosk login: enter the required kiosk login details, then click on login.
- Enter Jan Aadhar: go to Application, then KIOSK, then Application Add, and then enter the Jan Aadhar card number of the applicant, and then click on search.
- Select scheme: Select the family members and then the needed scheme.
- Give biometric: Tick the blank and approve using biometrics (if you get green ticks), and then click on ‘Get Details’ (if the fingerprint does not match, then retry).
- File pensioner details: Fill in the required details of the pensioner, including village/ward, religion, etc., then click on ‘save’ and then ‘ok’.
- Verify Details: Verify the applicant’s annual income, then click on ‘Agree Update’, and then click on ‘Save and Exit’.
- Payment and Forward Verification: After completing everything again, go to the application, then the Kiosk, and click on Emitra Payment and Forward to Verification.
- Download application: Now, click on ‘process for e-mitra payment’ to pay and download the application.
Note: Make sure that Jan’s Aadhaar card is well linked with the bank account and updated identity and fulfils the eligibility criteria, like age limit, disability, male death, etc. and in case the application gets rejected, then correct it again by going to the application, then Kiosk, and reverse the application by the verification authority.
